The two month period of March-April marks the transition between spring and summer. Many of our festivals and Parvas fall during these two months. Although the whole period of two months is surcharged with powerful vibrations of deeper and higher energy fields, Navratra Parva is especially so. For the Parijans of Gayatri Pariwar, this is a period for intensive Gayatri sadhana and more meaningful involvement in social upliftment projects undertaken by the mission so that we are able to complete these projects before the beginning of our Gurudev’s centenary celebrations. Parijans are aware of the details of the projects.

We have a number of sacred festivals and Jayantis (Birth anniversaries) to joyfully and solemnly celebrate during these two months; viz Holi (March 21-22), Chaitra Navratra (April 6-14), Ramnavami (April 14), Mahavir Jayanti (April 18). Above all, we have to specially celebrate two Jayantis which commemorate our Sadguru’s two earlier incarnations: Samarth Guru Ramdas Jayanti on March 1 and Paramhans Ramkrishna Jayanti on March 9. Our Sadguru had incarnated as Samarth Ramdas for revivification and reestablishment of the glory of Sanatan Dharma in the 17th century - the mission he accomplished through the instrumentality of a noble and valiant warrior prince – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj – who challenged and repulsed the hordes of a fanatically oppressive and ruthless aligned empire from large parts of Deccan Peninsula and established their independent Rashtra where Sanatan Dharma could flourish fearlessly and freely. This was followed by another incarnation of Gurusatta in a different setting and with a revolutionary goal of demonstrating, by actual experience, the essential unity of all paths of spiritual seeking – the essence of all religions. This was accomplished through the life of Paramhans Sri Ramakrishna – an illiterate son of a poor priest, who in one embodiment of about 50 years demonstrated the brilliant intellect of Adi Shankar and a wonderfully expensive and love filled heart of Chaitanya Maha Prabhu. The message of his life was spread through his chosen instrument, the great Swami Vivekanand – who took the essential message of Vedic Sanatan Dharma as revealed through the life of his Master to the whole world. This is what the great Swami said about his Master:

“The life of Bhagwan Ramakrishna was an extraordinary searchlight under whose illumination one is able to understand the whole scope of Sanatan Dharma (Hindu Religion)… He showed by his life what the Rishis and Avatars really wanted to teach. By actual experience he came to know that the goal of every religion is the same – the difference being largely in method and still more in the language. His own wonderful life was a living embodiment of Sanatan Dharma. He had in 51 years lived 5000 years of natural spiritual life. He had found that the one idea in all religions is: “Not me but Thou”. The less of this little “I” the more of God there is. He was infused with the universal spirit and character of real dharma…”

Our Sadguru in his latest embodiment has carried forward the spiritual legacy of his two earlier incarnations so that the vision of embodied divine life on earth – a divinized humanity – becomes a reality. We the Gayatri Pariwar Parijans have to become worthy inheritors of this vision and make it a manifest reality in our lives and then as a ripple effect spread it all over the earth. EVAMASTU!
With heartful greetings for a joyful and hilarious Holi.

Pranav Pandya
