| The self-existent eternal power of Supreme Consciousness - the source of all existence and activity, was realized by the Indian sages of yore as Gayatri. It is defined as Vedmata - the genesis of all Vedas. The four Vedas - Rik, Yaju, Sama and Atharva and hence all streams of knowledge are said to have originated from the Gayatri.
